Indigenous Sovereignty Week - Film Screening

Film Screening - 12-1:15pm

Presentation by Lisa Michell - 1:15-2pm

In the Aboriginal Students' Centre - across Sidney Smith St. from the Max Bell Centre

In partnership with UMASA and the planners of Indigenous Sovereignty Week, the Womyn's Centre will be screening the film Finding Dawn - a documentary "which illustrates the deep historical, social and economic factors that contribute to the epidemic of violence against Native women in the country. It goes further to present the ultimate message that stopping the violence is everyone's responsibility." After the documentary, Lisa Michell, an organizer of the Women's Memorial March will be speaking from 1:15-2pm with time to answer questions.
The event is being held in the Aboriginal Students' Centre, across Sidney Smith St. from the Max Bell Centre.

The discussion group is open to all womyn, regardless of whether you identify as feminist or not. Please send us an email at uofm_womyn@hotmail.com to let us know. The meetings will be held on different days and times to accomodate as may people's schedules as possible.
